Industrial control panels (-50 +85)

Industrial control panel (CP) is a special design keyboard with display elements. A control panel is a paste-in or a self-supporting device (depending on the requirements), serving as the front panel of instruments, consoles and workstations.

Industrial control panels are made of glass-fiber laminate and/or polyimide PCB with copper conductors and 6 microns nickel plated and 3 microns gold plated contact pads for the closing elements.

The closing elements are stainless steel membranes, ensuring up to 5 000 000 operation cycles and tactile clicks. The membranes are fixed on the printed circuit board to prevent shifting from vibration and impacts.

The control panel front foil shields, providing the front surface sealing, have images of keys, symbols etc., marked using the "paint under film" method, which do not wear off during the whole service life. The shields also have transparent windows for indicators (may be glossy / matte and tinted on customer's request) , and decorative-shaped keys. If necessary, optional symbol change for different designs is implemented as well.

Control panels are manufactured with IP54 to IP68 ingress protection, depending on the version.

Control panels are specially designed keyboards made of printed circuit boards based on glass-fiber laminate with 3 microns gold plated contact spots on the 6 microns nickel sublayer.

The closing elements are stainless steel membranes, ensuring up to 5 000 000 operation cycles and tactile clicks. The membranes are fixed on the printed circuit board to prevent shifting from vibration and impacts.

The switching PCB with membranes is covered with polyester/polycarbonate film information shield. On the shield, which ensures front surface sealing, special symbols are marked using the paint that does not fade during use. Besides, this paint does not wear away by rubbing, since it is applied to the inner side of the shield film.

Information shields are manufactured of any design according the customer specifications, without limitation of color combination options. Where appropriate, transparent windows for LCD, LED signaling, etc. are made. The front shield can be made with images that change color when backlit by intelligent backlight, as well as with the hidden images that appear when illuminated.

The upper surface of the shield film may, on customer´s request, have both glossy and anti-glare (matte) finish.

On the front side of the shield, if necessary, keys zones shaping may be done (bulging, embossing, shoulder along the key perimeter).

The shields are fixed to the printed circuit board using special double-sided adhesive films having an acrylic adhesive that does not dry during the lifetime (15 years).

The control panels ingression protection class ranges IP54 to IP68, depending on the version. The end surfaces of control panels are protected by special acrylic lacquers. To achieve IP65-IP68 class, the control panels are made in metal or plastic housing.

Control panels are manufactured in 2 basic designs:

1. Paste-in CP are made on the basis of 0.25 to 0.8 mm glass-fiber laminate or polyimide PCB. They are manufactured with the application of the adhesive layer on the back of the product for further pasting of CP in the recess on the device housing. The thickness of the CP including the adhesive layer is 0,9-1.3 mm. The paste-in CPs ensure complete sealing of the device's front panel.

2.Self-supporting CPs are made on the basis of 1.5-2 mm glass-fiber laminate PCB (for better rigidity it can be integrated with a metal or aluminum plate). CPs are fixed in the housing using the threaded studs or plugs press fitted into the CP from reverse side.

 

If necessary, the following elements may be installed on the CP:
- indication LEDs (SMD LEDs may be also installed on the front side under the shield)
- radio components of controller electronics ensuring operation of keys, LED backlight and keyboard indication, as well as controllers which control the customer's executive units. The interface and communication protocol is defined according to customer's specifications (e.g., RS-232, RS-485, PS / 2, USB, CAN, etc.). 

- connectors and/or cables,
- fastening elements (threaded studs, plugs), e.g. for mounting the LCD

- additional PCBs rack systems, including 'plug-to-socket' connections without using the FFC.
